YOU Foundation appoints Dr. med. Julia Berkei to the Board of Trustees

Appointment to the Board of Trustees by Dr. h.c. Ute-Henriette Ohoven

The President of the Board of Trustees and Founder of the YOU Foundation — Education for Children in Need, Dr. h.c. Ute-Henriette Ohoven, has appointed Dr. med. Julia Berkei, Frankfurt am Main, to the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Berkei has been running a well-known plastic surgery practice in Germany for more than 20 years. For over 25 years, Dr. Berkei has been involved, first in India and then primarily in Myanmar for 15 years through the association “Medical Intervention Team — e.V.”, which she founded, in which she was able to recruit numerous colleagues to work on site. The surgical team regularly traveled locally to Mandalay, Myanmar and treated children with burns and malformations, such as cleft lip and palate, in order to give a total of almost a thousand children a new and more livable life.

Objectives of the YOU Foundation and personal motivation of Dr. Berkei

The YOU Foundation is committed to education, climate education, women's empowerment, health care, food security, clean water and human rights for the poorest in order to achieve equal opportunities and education for all, especially for children, girls and women. The focus is on the UNESCO Education Agenda 2030. It promotes sustainable development by helping people to help themselves in order to reduce hunger, poverty and climate-related refugee flows.
